The Opportunity: Join the Services and Outreach Team

The Services and Outreach Team at Burnett Foundation Aotearoa plays a crucial role in developing individual skills, strengthening communities, and enhancing the capacity of the health workforce to meet the needs of their clients. They offer a range of services including HIV and STI testing, counseling, peer-led group programs, and education in various locations.

What the Peer Tester Role Entails

The Peer Tester position involves managing the setup and delivery of HIV and Syphilis rapid tests, supporting clients through testing processes, recording data accurately, providing health promotion messaging, and assisting with administrative tasks related to service delivery. The role also involves ensuring the security and maintenance of equipment and records.

About You: Qualifications and Skills Required

To excel in this role, candidates should demonstrate a commitment to the cause and possess experience in customer service, effective communication skills, and an ability to work with diverse groups impacted by HIV. Attention to detail, confidentiality, and ethical practice are also essential qualities. While not mandatory, knowledge of HIV and experience within rainbow and Takatāpui communities are advantageous.
