About the Role
As a Peer Support Specialist at Pathways, you will be part of a team dedicated to empowering individuals experiencing mental illness. Key responsibilities include:
- Working in a team of peer support specialists
- Supporting individuals on their journey to recovery
- Utilizing the 6 core values of Peer Support
- Reporting to the Team Coach
Qualifications and Requirements
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- Peer Employment Training or Intentional Peer Support Training
- Completion of WRAP training
- New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing or equivalent
- Knowledge of the Code of Health and Disability Services Consumers' Rights
- Understanding and commitment to recovery principles
- Lived experience of mental illness
- Knowledge of mental health and NGO sector development
- Commitment to the principles of the Te Tiriti o Waitangi
