About the Role

As a Peer Support Specialist at Pathways, you will be part of a team dedicated to empowering individuals experiencing mental illness. Key responsibilities include:

  • Working in a team of peer support specialists
  • Supporting individuals on their journey to recovery
  • Utilizing the 6 core values of Peer Support
  • Reporting to the Team Coach

Qualifications and Requirements

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • Peer Employment Training or Intentional Peer Support Training
  • Completion of WRAP training
  • New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing or equivalent
  • Knowledge of the Code of Health and Disability Services Consumers' Rights
  • Understanding and commitment to recovery principles
  • Lived experience of mental illness
  • Knowledge of mental health and NGO sector development
  • Commitment to the principles of the Te Tiriti o Waitangi
