The Opportunity

Starship Digital and Community Engagement Service is seeking an experienced policy and research professional to lead its policy, research, and evaluation function. The role offers the opportunity to advance Māori and Pacific health equity at a national level. The successful candidate will manage a team, contribute to a new work programme, and focus on Māori health equity and cultural knowledge systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic policy leadership and guidance
  • Develop research capability with a focus on Māori health equity
  • Lead mātauranga policy, research, and evaluation initiatives
  • Inform Māori development opportunities for health and well-being

Important Skills

  • Senior Policy leadership experience in health or community sectors
  • Experience in commissioning research and evaluation projects
  • Relevant Tertiary Qualification in Public Policy or Public Health
  • Strategic leadership and change management experience
  • Proficiency in Te Reo Maori and Tikanga
