Overview

Are you a seasoned educator with a passion for mentoring and supporting student teachers? Look no further! The School of Education/Te Kura Mātauranga at AUT University is on the lookout for an Evaluative/Visiting Lecturer to contribute to our Bachelor of Education (Primary) programme. This contract position involves visiting, supporting, and evaluating student teachers during their practicum placements.

Responsibilities

As an Evaluative/Visiting Lecturer, your main responsibility will be to provide mentorship to student teachers and evaluate their progress during practicum placements. You will leverage your experience as a senior teacher to guide and support the next generation of educators. The role will require you to travel across Auckland to visit students at their practicum schools.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, applicants must have experience in mentoring as senior teachers and a solid understanding of the education sector in Aotearoa New Zealand. Current teacher registration and a full practicing certificate with the Teaching Council of New Zealand are mandatory requirements.

Who Should Apply?

This role is ideal for recently retired middle or senior leaders, part-time teachers, and teacher educators with previous experience in Initial Teacher Education. Please note that full-time teachers currently working in schools are not eligible to apply for this position.
