The Role of Senior Academic in Food Science

The School of Science at AUT is seeking innovative senior academics with expertise in Food Science to join their team at the City Campus in Auckland. The role involves teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Food Chemistry and Food Technology, as well as conducting research in the field. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to teach overseas for three weeks a year and contribute to the school and faculty activities.

Qualifications and Responsibilities

  • Qualification: A PhD in Food Science or a related field.
  • Teaching and Learning: Significant experience in lecturing, course design, and coordination in Food Chemistry and Food Technology. Experience supervising Master and/or PhD students.
  • Research and Scholarship: Strong research background in Food Science, particularly in Food Chemistry, including Carbohydrate Chemistry. Experience in publishing, securing research grants, and building collaborative relationships.
  • Citizenship and Service: Demonstrated academic leadership, community engagement, and collaboration with stakeholders.
