Principal Commercial Lead - Construction Industry

Are you looking for an opportunity to utilize your construction-related experience in a dynamic and rewarding role? We are seeking a Principal Commercial Lead to join our Transport Services Group based in the North Island. In this role, you will play a key part in optimizing outcomes and risk assurance for various construction projects.

Responsibilities:

• Champion the development of commercial acumen capability within the project delivery streams
• Lead initiatives and conduct project reviews from inception to implementation
• Assist with negotiations and dispute resolutions
• Mentor and coach Commercial Advisors and project team members in commercial management
• Provide leadership in risk management and contractual acumen
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enhance project delivery practices

Requirements:

• Proven experience in a consulting or construction background
• Extensive commercial/contractual experience in the construction industry
• Knowledge of procurement systems and supply chain processes
• Ability to review cost estimates and project scheduling
• Experience in risk identification, analysis, and quantification
• Skills in contract negotiation and dispute resolution
• Familiarity with contract management in a high-volume environment
• Experience with NZ3910 and Alliance contracts (or international equivalent)
• Ability to analyze offers from contractors and suppliers
• Experience working within a large complex organization in a commercial context
