Position Overview

The Production Supervisor/ Team Leader will play a crucial role in the management team, overseeing and leading dispatch and warehouse operations in a modern factory. The primary responsibilities include ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and quality distribution of products. This role involves supervising a medium-sized warehouse team, managing warehouse operations, and maintaining lean manufacturing and agile processes to facilitate timely dispatch of high-quality goods. Additionally, the Production Supervisor will be tasked with troubleshooting equipment issues and collaborating with on-site engineers to ensure minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of up to 12 direct reports in warehouse operations
  • Oversee product movement from production line to dispatch area
  • Manage loading/unloading, receiving, sorting, put away, picking, and inventory control
  • Implement lean manufacturing and agile processes
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives

Experience and Qualifications

The ideal candidate should have:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a leadership role in an FMCG environment, preferably in food or drink production
  • Strong knowledge and experience in warehouse and dispatch management
  • Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and SAP
  • Familiarity with inventory control principles
  • A commitment to health and safety in the workplace
  • New Zealand residency or a valid work visa
