About the Role
In our psychologist offices throughout Auckland, you'll collaborate within Community Corrections and Prison staff, conducting individual psychology assessments and treatments within a supportive team environment. Whether stationed in central Auckland, Manukau, or Correctional Facilities, you'll engage daily with individuals at high risk of reoffending, utilising a range of interventions tailored to their unique needs.
Alternatively, explore opportunities within Special Treatment Units across Auckland (working with men or women), focusing on reducing reoffending rates in a therapeutic community. Here, you'll conduct clinical assessments, lead group treatments, provide supervision, and contribute to various service initiatives, all within a tikanga Māori framework.
About You
We are seeking a psychologist who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of others. The ideal candidate thrives in challenging situations, dedicated to promoting positive change within the corrections system. Strong communication skills, adaptability, and a commitment to culturally responsive ways of working are essential.
As a collaborative team player, you excel in professional environments where teamwork and mutual support are valued. Whether you're starting your career or seeking advancement, a minimum of a Master's degree in Psychology (Clinical or Forensic Psychology) and registration with the NZ Psychologist Board is required.
Salary and Benefits
The salary range for the role is $83,286 - $133,370, with opportunities for additional allowances and professional development funding. Flexible working hours and an international relocation package are available for eligible candidates relocating from overseas.
