Job Opportunity: Public Health Medicine Registrar at IMAC
Overview
IMAC is offering a unique opportunity for a Public Health Medicine Registrar to join their team and work at the forefront of New Zealand's immunisation response. This position is a 12-month fixed-term role with options ranging from 0.7 to 1 FTE. Candidates can choose to be based in Auckland, Waikato, or Wellington.
The Role
As a Public Health Medicine Registrar at IMAC, you will collaborate nationally with key networks involved in strategic planning, policy development, communication, and service delivery related to the national immunisation programme, including COVID-19 vaccination efforts. You will work alongside experienced professionals in translational research focusing on vaccine-preventable diseases, immunisation coverage, and equity.
Key Responsibilities
- Support IMAC’s initiatives to enhance national vaccine coverage and equity
- Work on various projects related to research, strategy, policy, education, and training
- Provide medical and public health expertise in immunisation and infectious disease prevention
Requirements
To qualify for this role, you must:
- Hold an MBChB qualification and a current practising certificate from the New Zealand Medical Council
- Have knowledge and experience in epidemiology and clinical understanding of vaccine-preventable diseases
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrate an understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles
- Be eligible to work in New Zealand
