Densen Groundup Ltd is a construction company specializing in residential foundation and civil earthwork projects in Auckland, New Zealand. Currently, we are seeking a talented Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team.

Position Requirements

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Quantity Surveying or a related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in the local residential construction industry in New Zealand
  • Familiarity with QS processes in the New Zealand construction industry
  • Proficient in document management and online application processing
  • Strong sense of responsibility, excellent learning ability, and multitasking skills
  • Valid NZ work visa with the possibility of visa assistance for outstanding performers

Job Responsibilities

  • Estimate project costs, control expenses, and prepare budgets
  • Provide cost advice to ensure projects meet budget and quality requirements
  • Analyze and assess the impact of engineering changes, offering cost analysis and solutions
  • Communicate effectively with project teams, clients, and contractors for smooth project progress
  • Source and compare quotes from new sub-contractors
  • Establish and maintain the company's QS system

Position Overview

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be integral to project success by accurately estimating costs, managing project finances, and providing valuable insights throughout the construction process. Your attention to detail and negotiation skills will contribute to project profitability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare precise cost estimates and project budgets
  • Conduct thorough cost analysis and provide cost-effective suggestions
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders for accurate project costing and control
  • Monitor project expenditure and manage financial aspects of contracts
  • Evaluate contracts, subcontracts, and supplier agreements
  • Conduct site visits to assess progress and address cost-related issues

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field
  • Minimum 3 years of Quantity Surveyor experience in New Zealand
  • Knowledge of construction costs, contract administration, and financial management
  • Proficiency in QS software and tools
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently
