Opportunity for Nature Enthusiasts in Procurement

Introduction

Are you passionate about nature and have experience in procurement with construction-related projects? The Department of Conservation Te Papa Atawhai (DOC) is seeking a Senior Supplier Advisor to join their team in either Wellington, Auckland, or Christchurch. This is a full-time permanent role with hybrid working arrangements.

About the Role

As a Senior Supplier Advisor, you will focus on the Construction Category related to capital investment and asset maintenance programs. You will contribute to economic recovery activities related to protecting the environment and connecting the public to nature by building and maintaining tracks, bridges, roads, fences, huts, and facilities. Additionally, you will be involved in market research, providing expert advice, supplier performance management, and coaching junior team members.

Skills and Experience

If you have 5+ years of relevant experience in procurement or category management, preferably in Construction, Property, or Facilities Management, DOC would like to hear from you. Strong analytical skills, negotiation abilities, and experience in managing contractual processes are desirable. Relevant qualifications in Engineering, Business, Law, or Commerce are preferred, along with an understanding of the Māori Crown relationship.
