About Us

At Waiuku Zero Waste, we are a community enterprise committed to achieving zero waste. Our small yet dedicated team is passionate about educating the community on the importance of reducing, reusing, and recycling. We go beyond just being a 'dump' by transforming rubbish into valuable resources.

The Reuse Shop is the heart of our operation, open from Thursday to Sunday, 7.45am to 4.15pm. We are open to discussing flexible days and hours for the right candidate.

Skills and Experience

We are seeking a dynamic individual with the following qualifications and attributes:

• Proven experience in managing staff and volunteers
• Strong retail background with expertise in setting and achieving targets
• Familiarity with sales systems, cash handling, and data recording
• Outstanding customer service skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse groups
• Positive attitude, reliability, and integrity
• Physical capability to lift up to 10kg
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Good written, computer, and verbal communication skills

While prior experience in retail is beneficial, training will be provided to enhance your skills for this unique role.
