The Opportunity
Family Works Northern is seeking a Social Worker in Schools (SWIS) to work closely with families and vulnerable children in local school settings. Responsibilities include providing early intervention and preventive social work services, utilizing a strengths-based, multi-systemic approach to facilitate positive and lasting change. The ideal candidate will possess a tertiary level degree in Social Work, registration with the Social Workers Registration Board, and experience working with children in a school environment.
Your Skills and Experience
To excel in this role, you should have advanced interpersonal skills, a warm and engaging nature, and the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with clients, families, and colleagues. Additionally, proficiency in Tikanga Maori, commitment to working with Tangata Whenua, and a clean NZ driver's license are essential. Experience in maintaining professional boundaries, meeting KPIs, and adhering to practice requirements will be advantageous.
