The Opportunity to Make a Difference

Family Works Northern is seeking a Social Worker in Schools (SWIS) to work with vulnerable children and teens, providing early intervention and preventive social work services to them and their families. This role involves individual and group work using a strengths-based, multi-systemic approach to bring about positive and lasting change.

Your Skills and Experience

To excel as a Social Worker in Schools, you should possess the following:

  • A tertiary degree in Social Work
  • Registration with the Social Workers Registration Board
  • Full, clean NZ driver's license and a reliable vehicle
  • Experience in social work
  • Advanced interpersonal skills
  • Confidence in working with Tikanga Maori
  • Experience in working with children in a school setting (preferred)
