Job requirements

Full registration with New Zealand's Social Work Registration Board (SWRB)
Social worker qualification recognized by the SWRB
Strong commitment to strength-based practice
Driver's license

Job responsibilities

Hear tamariki and rangatahi voices and support them or their whānau to make positive changes
Work with various cultural groups and people from different backgrounds
Complete initial safety checks and assessments on tamariki, rangatahi, and whānau
Support whānau to grow their capacity to care for their tamariki and rangatahi
Plan interventions to maintain tamariki and rangatahi within their whānau
Work alongside partners in the community, non-government organizations, and state sector agencies

Qualifications

Experienced Social Worker in Aotearoa
Experience in NGO sector and/or Oranga Tamariki
Senior practitioners are welcome to apply

Skills

Excellent written and oral communication skills
Resilience, problem-solving, and flexibility
PC and Microsoft Office Suite skills
Report writing skills
Soft skills, emotional empathy, teamwork, and leadership
Cross-cultural practices knowledge, including tikanga Māori, and Pacific peoples' culture
