About the Role

The Technical Services group is dedicated to enhancing the accuracy of cover, rehabilitation, and entitlement decisions within the network. This role operates in a fast-paced environment where innovative solutions result in positive outcomes for injured individuals in New Zealand. As a Technical Accounting Specialist, you will offer accounting advice and support to ACC's branches regarding accounting and tax matters related to weekly compensation for self-employed and shareholder-employee claims. Your responsibilities also include enhancing the precision of cover and entitlement determinations.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and analyze financial statements and apply tax legislation and policies
  • Chartered Accountant certification preferred
  • Proficiency in economic and financial analysis, strong numeracy skills
  • Expertise in analysis and/or research
  • Effective prioritization, planning, and coordination skills
  • Keen attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build relationships with stakeholders of all levels
  • Adaptability and flexibility in the workplace
  • Strong knowledge of tax legislation related to self-employed businesses and shareholder income
  • Team player with the ability to collaborate effectively

Compensation and Application Details

The salary range for this role is $85,037 - $110,047 annually, with actual salary based on skills and experience. ACC provides a 9% superannuation contribution.
