What We're Looking For
As a Residential Youth Worker, you will play a crucial role in supporting young people's integration back into their whanau and community. Key responsibilities include delivering innovative care, promoting social engagement, building skills, and providing trauma-focused therapeutic support. To excel in this role, we are seeking individuals who:
- Meet Vetting requirements (Vulnerable Children's Act and Police Vetting)
- Hold a full, clean, valid NZ driver's license
- Have a valid visa (New Zealand residency or citizenship)
- Understand and embrace tikanga Māori and te reo Māori
- Demonstrate resilience, initiative, and a positive outlook
- Display empathy, patience, and the ability to connect with young people
- Enjoy being a positive role model and a team player
- Have strong communication skills for effective reporting
