An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Chief Executive Officer at Youthtown, a national not-for-profit organization based in Auckland, New Zealand. Youthtown has a rich 92-year heritage and is dedicated to providing developmental education activities and programs for children and youth aged 5-24 years across the country. The organization's vision is to empower young people in New Zealand to reach their full potential.

Role Overview

The CEO will lead an iconic kiwi not-for-profit organization and report to the Chair of the Board. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing the 2032 strategic plan, focusing on creating tangible and sustainable youth skills and growth outcomes for young Kiwis. The role involves leading a talented team, engaging with government agencies and corporates, and building partnerships to support the organization's mission.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the organization through transformational change
  • Implement the 2032 strategic plan
  • Develop and embed strategies to deliver on the organization's objectives
  • Engage with government agencies and corporates at a high level
  • Promote cultural awareness and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi
  • Effectively engage with diverse communities, including Maori, Pasifika, and Whaikaha
  • Drive stakeholder engagement and demonstrate strong commercial acumen
  • Prioritize youth development and education, particularly in underserved communities

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Professional credibility and leadership experience
  • Ability to engage with diverse communities and demonstrate cultural awareness
  • Experience in the youth development/education sector
  • Strong commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi
  • Effective stakeholder engagement skills
