Claims Examiner, Property & Energy Full-time Job

Position Overview:

AIG New Zealand is offering a Claims Examiner role in Commercial Property, Energy, and Specialty Insurance. This position provides an opportunity to work with a leading provider of insurance products and services, gaining exposure to both local and global markets. The role involves managing a portfolio of claims, ensuring timely and accurate resolution while maintaining high standards of customer service and compliance with legal requirements.

Impactful Responsibilities:

• Manage Property and Business Interruption claims from coverage inquiry to resolution
• Determine coverage, analyze quantum, and assess legal liability within authority limits
• Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
• Mitigate indemnity and expense exposure
• Adhere to legal and regulatory requirements

Qualifications for Success:

• Experience in handling Commercial Property, Business Pack, and residential or commercial claims
• Strong policy language interpretation skills
• Ability to manage stakeholders and follow up on technical audits
• Demonstrated customer focus and communication skills
• Effective time management and prioritization abilities
• Team player with relationship-building skills
