About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Community Connector to offer support and advocacy to individuals and families facing challenges from COVID-19 or recent weather events. This position involves assessing needs, advocating on behalf of those in distress, fostering strong relationships with various stakeholders, and ensuring effective communication. This is a part-time role until 30 June 2025, requiring 30 hours per week.

About You

To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • A Certificate or diploma in Health and Wellbeing, Social Services, or a related field
  • A collaborative mindset
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • An understanding of the difficulties faced by families affected by COVID-19 and other hardships
  • Effective planning and organizational abilities
  • The capacity to work independently while seeking guidance when needed
  • Excellent problem-solving, advocacy, and interpersonal skills
  • Empathy, patience, and the ability to work methodically
  • Skilled in building rapport and possessing a full driver's license

Desirable attributes include experience with diverse cultures, a solution-focused approach, creativity, a passion for making a difference, compassion, and a sense of humor.
