Introduction

At Mercy Hospice, we are dedicated to providing equitable and culturally responsive care to our patients and their whānau. We are currently looking for a Kaiārahi Māori Cultural Liaison to join our Family Support Team.

Position Details

This is a permanent, part-time position offering 24 – 32 hours per week, providing a work-life balance and flexibility in your work schedule. As part of our team, you will have access to free parking, convenient transport links, and a company vehicle for community visits.

Key Responsibilities

• Delivering culturally safe palliative care to patients, whānau, and the multidisciplinary team
• Supporting Māori cultural practices and knowledge within the organization
• Participating in policy development specific to the needs of Māori patients
• Building strong relationships with staff and volunteers
• Acting as an educator and mentor within the hospice

Required Skills

• Proficiency in Te Reo and Mātauranga Māori
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively with diverse groups
