About the Roles
Headway - Brain Injury Auckland is currently looking to fill 2 part-time Community Navigator roles, one focusing on South Auckland and the other on Northshore/North Auckland. These roles are 0.8 FTE, equating to 32 hours per week.
Role Overview
As a Community Navigator at Headway - Brain Injury Auckland, you will be instrumental in supporting individuals affected by brain injury. By utilizing empathetic listening and a strengths-based approach, you will help clients and their families identify obstacles, set goals, and provide them with the necessary resources to overcome challenges and make informed decisions for their well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage in empathetic listening to understand clients' needs and challenges.
- Assist clients in accessing support services and resources.
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with community organizations.
- Deliver education programs and community presentations to raise awareness about brain injury.
- Work with the Headway team to enhance local programs either in South Auckland or Northshore/North Auckland.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences or related field preferred.
- Strong community and cultural connections in South Auckland or Northshore/North Auckland.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for supporting individuals impacted by brain injury.
- Understanding and commitment to Te Ao Māori and kaupapa Māori practices.
