Join as a Cultural Supervisor & Navigator at Presbyterian Support Upper South Island (PSUSI)

About PSUSI:

Presbyterian Support has been offering social services in the upper South Island region for more than 115 years. Despite operating independently from the Presbyterian Church, the organization honors its heritage and shared values through its name. Their vision is to create a society that is fair, empathetic, and inclusive. The mission is to empower children/tamāriki, young people/rangatahi, families/whānau, and older people/kaumātua to feel safe, resilient, and connected.

The Opportunity as Tāhuhu Ahurea:

As the Tāhuhu Ahurea for PSUSI, you will be instrumental in integrating Tikanga Māori, Te Kaimana Korowai, and the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi into the organization's clinical operations. Reporting to the Co-CEO and with functional responsibility to the GM Social Services, your role involves providing guidance on culturally responsive clinical services, overseeing the implementation of the Treaty of Waitangi, conducting training sessions, acting as a liaison for local hapu, and monitoring the organization's progress in incorporating Māori principles.

Requirements for the Role:

To excel in this position, you should have a relevant tertiary qualification in Māori studies or a related field, along with extensive Mātauranga Māori experience. Professional registration in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, or a similar field in social services or health is essential.
