Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this is a critical and visible role providing strategic leadership and team management and contributing as a key member of the senior leadership team on all matters relating to Health and Safety, Quality Management and Environmental Management. You will lead HSQE operations in a manner that supports the strategic intent of the business and key stakeholders, ensuring compliance with legislation, business policies and procedures, and ensuring emergency / crisis preparedness.

About the role

  • Develop and continuously improve integrated management systems across all aspects of HSQE.
  • Determine, advise on, manage and maintain appropriate HSQE certifications, accreditations and prequalifications.
  • Ensure compliance across all applicable legislation; assess and manage risk across all areas of HSQE.
  • Provide thought leadership in the safety and quality culture at PDP.
  • Develop and implement crisis management framework from a HSQE perspective.
  • Lead, guide and motivate the HSQE team for high performance.
  • Work collaboratively with other senior leaders as part of our “one team” culture.
  • Have influence over the direction of the business and have the potential for shareholding.

What you’ll bring

  • Degree qualified with a relevant qualification in occupational health and safety from a well-recognised tertiary education provider.
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in a QHSE leadership role.
  • Strong working knowledge in HSQE management systems such as ISO certification in Occupational Health and Safety (ISO 45001), Environmental (ISO 14001) and Quality (ISO 9001).
  • Prior experience in a professional consultancy will be an advantage.
  • Proven leadership skills; a collegiate, team-player attitude.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
