Responsibilities

As a financial accountant at NZ Build Group, you will have the opportunity to manage various financial accounting tasks, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger entries, and financial reporting. Your responsibilities will also involve preparing and analyzing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements. You will collaborate with internal teams to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis, contributing to informed business decision-making. Regular account reconciliations and discrepancy identification are vital aspects of the role, as well as coordinating with external auditors for annual audits.

Requirements

To excel in this role, candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A CPA or CA qualification is preferred, along with a minimum of 3 years of financial accounting experience, ideally in the construction industry. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities are essential. The ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment is crucial. Familiarity with New Zealand tax laws, regulatory requirements, and experience with Xero accounting software are advantageous.
