Role of a Project Manager at PJM

As a Project Manager at PJM, you will be responsible for managing a range of Construction and Development projects. Your duties will include Programme and Cost Management, Design Management, Approvals Management, Risk Management, Procurement Management, Contract Delivery, Client Service, People Management, and Network Development. The role offers a combination of managing smaller projects independently and collaborating with senior team members on larger, more complex projects.

Qualifications and Skills Required

The ideal candidate for the Intermediate Project Manager position at PJM should have a minimum of 3 years of Construction Project Management experience in New Zealand. Tertiary qualifications are preferred, and candidates should possess strong Client-Side Project Management and Construction Management skills. Individuals from backgrounds like Architecture, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or Site Management who are looking to transition into client-side project management are also encouraged to apply.

Strong knowledge of Building Standards, NZS3910 and NZS3915 contracts, tendering processes, and excellent communication and negotiation skills are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Teams, and MS Project, along with proven success in project delivery, is required. The role involves travel to project sites in the Waikato and BOP regions, so candidates must be comfortable with periodic travel.
