Role Overview

As a Quantity Surveyor (QS) within this company, you will play a crucial role in the financial management of projects. You will work closely with a team of 3 QS professionals, overseeing your own projects while receiving support and guidance from the commercial manager. The position requires a balance of independence and collaboration, with a strong emphasis on open communication for feedback and professional growth. You will be involved in various aspects of project management, from estimating and cost planning to stakeholder management and final accounts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Estimating/cost planning for general, carpentry, and concrete trades
  • Tender procurement, preparation, and analysis
  • Budget estimates and cost management
  • Variation analysis, budget, and cost reporting
  • Subcontractor payment claim assessments
  • Final accounts preparation
  • Stakeholder management and client engagement

Key Requirements

  • A tertiary qualification in construction management or quantity surveying
  • 4-7 years of hands-on QS experience in a Tier 2 or 3 main contractor (preferred)
  • Thorough knowledge of the local construction market and commercial construction legislation
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders
