### Leadership Role in New Independent Crown Entity

Are you passionate about upholding mana in sport and recreation while delivering on commitments to Māori? A newly created permanent full-time leadership role in a Crown entity based in Auckland, Tāmaki Makaurau may be the perfect fit for you.

#### Our Mission

As part of this new entity, your role will be pivotal in providing leadership and expertise on tikanga Māori, te ao Māori, and Māori experiences to enhance outcomes for Māori in the realm of sport and recreation. With responsibilities outlined in the Integrity Sport and Recreation Act 2023, including a focus on anti-doping and addressing harmful behaviors like abuse and discrimination, the organization is dedicated to ensuring safety and fairness in sports in New Zealand.

#### The Position

As the Kaihautū Māori Tāmaki Makaurau, you will work closely with Māori communities and organizations to foster collaboration and partnership opportunities. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, you will play a key role in embedding Te Kahu Raunui, the Commission's strategic framework, and fulfilling statutory obligations and commitments to Māori. Your responsibilities will also include promoting cultural competence within the organization and integrating kaupapa Māori into strategic planning and processes.

#### About You

The ideal candidate will possess:

- Experience in capability building with a focus on Māori perspectives - Understanding of te Tiriti o Waitangi and its implications for organizational strategies - Proficiency in tikanga Māori and te ao Māori, preferably in a public sector or community setting - Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with various stakeholders - Familiarity with incorporating te ao Māori and mātauranga Māori into business strategies - Experience working with Māori communities or organizations

Fluency in te reo Māori and knowledge of Māori customs is preferred for this role.
