About the Team

Based in Te Atatu, Auckland, Maritime New Zealand's Maritime Response team is responsible for strategic planning and intelligence functions related to maritime incident readiness and response. This team consists of specialists who manage oil spill readiness and response for Tier 1, 2, and 3 incidents, providing technical maintenance of equipment, conducting training activities nationwide, and playing a critical role during maritime incidents.

The Role

As a Maritime Response Technician, you will be involved in the complete management of Maritime NZ's oil spill response assets and inventory, including maintaining small workboats and contractual agreements for technical support during responses. Your responsibilities will involve preventative maintenance and inspection of equipment, vessels, and vehicles located in Te Atatu and other regional stores across the country.

What We're Looking For

We are seeking a technically experienced individual with qualifications and practical experience in the automotive industry, maritime operations, or emergency response roles. Knowledge of Maritime New Zealand's MOSS system, equipment maintenance, and repair procedures is essential. Experience in oil spill response and familiarity with relevant equipment will be advantageous.
