Oranga Tamariki is currently seeking passionate individuals to join their team as Residential Youth Workers at Korowai Manaaki Youth Justice Residence. This role involves supporting and empowering 13-17-year-olds who are in the residence while awaiting court proceedings or serving a sentence. As a Residential Youth Worker, you'll be a mentor, role model, and coach to these young people, helping them develop essential skills and behaviors for a brighter future.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring the safety and security of tamariki and staff
• Implementing engaging and educational activity programs
• Building high-trust relationships with young individuals
• Being a positive and consistent role model
• Working a roster that includes mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays

Requirements

• Previous experience working with children or in a related field
• Ability to pass a Vulnerable Childrens Act check and Police vetting
• Willingness to undergo six weeks of paid training
• Commitment to working in a drug and alcohol-free environment
