Join us in the Ka Awatea Transition to Adulthood Service in Tamaki Makaurau/Auckland region and be a part of something special.

About the Role

As a Kai Atawhai|Transition worker, you will play a crucial role in supporting rangatahi as they transition from long-term care or youth justice residential placement into adulthood. Your responsibilities will include assisting in skill development, fostering a network of support, and actively supporting the cultural identity of rangatahi, especially Māori youth.

Additionally, you should have the ability to build strong relationships, possess a full New Zealand driver's license, and be willing to undergo necessary checks and vetting processes.

What We Offer

At Kia Puāwai, we provide a flexible working environment, opportunities for career progression, supervision, and professional development. You will have access to 24/7 senior leadership support, an inclusive orientation program, and the chance to work with a diverse team of professionals. Moreover, we are committed to upholding the mana and tikanga Māori as part of best practice.

About Kia Puāwai

Kia Puāwai is a non-profit organization that specializes in providing therapeutic services for tamariki, rangatahi, and whānau with complex behavioral and mental health needs. Our approach combines Western evidence-based models with Māori and Pasifika knowledge, working in a trauma-informed manner that acknowledges the impacts of colonization. As a tangata Tiriti organization, we are dedicated to equitable outcomes and effective service delivery.

If you are passionate about making a difference and meet the requirements for this role, we encourage you to send your resume and cover letter to tina.berking@kiapuawai.nz. Join us in creating positive change in the lives of at-risk rangatahi. Ngā mihi nui!
