About the Job:

The Reserve Bank of New Zealand is currently undergoing a significant legislative change aimed at promoting economic prosperity and well-being for all New Zealanders. As the central bank of New Zealand, the Reserve Bank is looking to fill the role of Principal Adviser within the Enforcement & Resolution Department. This role will involve providing strategic leadership and advice on enforcement and resolution operational issues in alignment with the Deposit Takers Act 2023.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide advice and make decisions on complex enforcement and resolution operational issues
  • Deliver high-quality written analysis and recommendations for senior decision-makers and stakeholders
  • Offer expert advice on proposed policies, procedures, and frameworks

Requirements:

  • Law degree with 15+ years post-qualification experience
  • Extensive legal background in enforcement or resolution
  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently in complex and urgent situations
  • Strong influencing skills and stakeholder management capabilities
