Remote Senior Strategic Planner Full-time Job

Position: Senior Strategic Planner (Remote)

Are you enthusiastic about collaborating with communities to drive long-term growth and achieve place-based community outcomes? Do you possess a background in creating district-wide spatial plans, community masterplans, and placemaking strategies? If so, an exciting remote opportunity awaits you to become a part of the Growth Planning & Placemaking team.

Responsibilities:

• Lead or collaborate on the development of place-based plans, ensuring alignment with Council processes and policies.
• Identify long-term community outcomes and growth requirements.
• Develop planning scenarios to guide infrastructure needs and development contributions policies.
• Work with a proactive, future-focused team.

Requirements:

• Experience in best-practice methodologies for developing spatial plans, masterplans, or placemaking plans.
• Demonstrated leadership of public, private, and iwi working groups to achieve community outcomes.
• Ability to build trusted relationships internally and externally to garner necessary support for projects.
• Proficiency in developing planning scenarios considering demand, supply, constraints, and opportunities for growth in urban and rural areas.
• Skilled in presenting complex data clearly to diverse audiences using tools like ESRI GIS, storyboards, and Microsoft Office.
