Senior Civil Estimator Position

Location: Auckland or Tauranga, New Zealand

Salary: $130,000 - $150,000

Benefits: Including Life and Medical Insurance

Company: One of New Zealand's largest infrastructure construction companies specializing in reinforced concrete projects

Job Description:

• Minimum 5 years of NZ experience as a civil estimator
• Proficient in electronic tendering systems like CCs candy, cost x, or similar (Candy experience preferred)
• Ability to prepare quantity takeoffs accurately and efficiently
• Experience in submitting accurate documentation in a timely manner
• Capable of handling multiple tenders and liaising with clients as needed
• Skilled in problem-solving and providing optimal solutions for clients
• Self-managed individual with a strong teamwork mentality

Responsibilities:

• Participate in tender management and business development
• Estimate project costs by researching and compiling relevant details
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, designers, subcontractors, vendors, etc., to adjust cost estimates
• Assist in defining estimating policies and systems, compiling reports, and providing guidelines for future estimates
• Determine project scope and contents of estimates by preparing bid quantities and items
