Your Responsibilities as a Quantity Surveyor

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the success of construction projects. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting thorough cost analysis and preparing detailed estimates
  • Collaborating with project managers and engineers to develop budgets and cost plans
  • Procuring subcontractor and supplier services, negotiating contracts, and managing procurement processes
  • Monitoring project expenditure and providing timely cost reports
  • Assessing and managing project risks related to cost, contracts, and procurement
  • Reviewing and evaluating contractual agreements to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
  • Providing expert advice on cost-saving measures and value engineering opportunities
  • Leading, mentoring, and supporting junior members of the quantity surveying team
  • Fostering strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers
  • Staying updated on industry trends and best practices in quantity surveying methodologies

About You

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry, with a minimum of 7 years
  • In-depth knowledge of construction contracts, procurement methods, and cost management principles
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Proficiency in relevant software tools
  • Leadership abilities and a commitment to upholding ethical standards
