Your Responsibilities as a Quantity Surveyor
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the success of construction projects. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting thorough cost analysis and preparing detailed estimates
- Collaborating with project managers and engineers to develop budgets and cost plans
- Procuring subcontractor and supplier services, negotiating contracts, and managing procurement processes
- Monitoring project expenditure and providing timely cost reports
- Assessing and managing project risks related to cost, contracts, and procurement
- Reviewing and evaluating contractual agreements to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
- Providing expert advice on cost-saving measures and value engineering opportunities
- Leading, mentoring, and supporting junior members of the quantity surveying team
- Fostering strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Staying updated on industry trends and best practices in quantity surveying methodologies
About You
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry, with a minimum of 7 years
- In-depth knowledge of construction contracts, procurement methods, and cost management principles
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Proficiency in relevant software tools
- Leadership abilities and a commitment to upholding ethical standards
