At Waka Kotahi, the NZ Transport Agency, we are seeking Senior Quantity Surveyors to join our Commercial Delivery team. You will play a crucial role in providing specialized capital project cost estimation on a variety of projects to ensure value for money solutions and project budget lifecycle assurance. Your responsibilities will include managing all commercial concepts, practices, and procedures to deliver increased cost performance and value for money outcomes.

About You

To excel in this role, you should have extensive experience in the cost estimation process within a complex built environment, particularly in the civil infrastructure industry. Your ability to understand and consider construction methodology, staging, sequencing, and schedule requirements will be crucial. Strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and familiarity with estimating software such as Cost X and Candy are desired qualities. Additionally, you should have a tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field and be a member of NZIQS, AIQS, MRICS, or equivalent.
