Who We Are

Iosis operates as a multi-disciplinary, multicultural, Christian, community service provider with a vision to transform family life for good. Our Whanau Centre, formerly known as Merivale Whanau Development Centre, is a residential parenting program that accommodates up to 8 families at a time. We offer practical and emotional support in a safe and therapeutic environment for women and children experiencing care and protection concerns.

What We Offer

At Iosis, you will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with Oranga Tamariki and other community agencies to create positive outcomes for families facing complex challenges. As a key worker, you will play a vital role in providing support and guidance to vulnerable families, particularly Maori and Pacifica communities.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following:

  • Sound frameworks or models of practice related to family violence, parenting, drug and alcohol, and care and protection
  • Registration in Social Work
  • Previous experience in a social service agency working with vulnerable families
  • Excellent administrative and organizational skills
  • High level of self-awareness
  • Proven communication skills and the ability to have courageous conversations
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
  • Flexible attitude and a 'can do' approach
