As a Dispatcher, you will be at the forefront of emergency response, handling 111 calls and non-emergency requests to ensure timely and accurate assistance is provided to those in need.

Role Overview

As a Dispatcher, you will work in one of the three emergency Communications Centres located in Christchurch, Wellington, or Auckland. Your primary responsibility will be to serve as the initial point of contact for the public with Fire and Emergency New Zealand, providing critical information to responding crews for effective incident management.

What We Offer

• Competitive salary range starting at $60,512 and increasing to $72,614 upon successful training
• Eight-day roster with two 12-hour day shifts, two 12-hour night shifts, followed by four days off
• Six weeks of comprehensive training and mentoring with NZQA qualifications

What We Are Looking For

To excel in this role, you should possess:

• Good geographic knowledge of New Zealand
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Fast and accurate typing skills (minimum 45wpm)
• Empathy and the ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations
• Strong situational awareness and multitasking abilities
