About The Role

The Destination and Tourism Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of regional tourism and destination management. This includes developing and implementing strategies to drive sustainable visitor growth, enhance the region's tourism profile, and support local economic development. The role is based in Greymouth, with frequent domestic and international travel required.

Skills & Experience

The ideal candidate for this role will have a deep passion for tourism and a track record of contributing to the regional identity and economy in a sustainable manner. Key skills and experiences include:

  • Strong strategic thinking combined with a hands-on approach
  • Creativity in developing initiatives within limited budgets
  • Excellent relationship-building skills with stakeholders locally and internationally
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and eliminate roadblocks
  • Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience in Tourism, Marketing, or Business Studies
  • Proven experience in the commercial tourism sector across diverse geographies
  • Knowledge of New Zealand's tourism industry and marketing strategies
  • Experience in data analysis and alternative metrics to measure success
