A top infrastructure construction company in New Zealand is seeking a Senior Civil Estimator to join their team. With a focus on reinforced concrete projects such as Bridges, Wharves, Water Treatment Plants, and Pipelines, this company is a leader in the industry. The position offers a competitive salary range of $130,000 to $150,000 per year, inclusive of life and medical insurance. The role can be based in either Auckland or Tauranga, providing flexibility for the right candidate.
About the Candidate
- Minimum 5 years of NZ experience as a civil estimator, preferably in roading and contracting
- Expertise in electronic tendering systems such as CCs candy, cost x, or similar (candy experience is desirable but training will be provided)
- Ability to prepare quantity takeoffs accurately and efficiently
- Proficient in submitting accurate documentation in a timely manner
- Experience in handling multiple tenders and communicating effectively with clients
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to provide the best solutions for clients
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently
Responsibilities
- Participate in tender management and business development activities
- Estimate project costs by conducting research and compiling relevant details
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors to adjust cost estimates as needed
- Contribute to estimating policies and systems, prepare reports, and assist in developing guidelines for future estimates
- Define the scope of work and project estimate contents by creating a list of bid quantities and items
