About Our Client:

Our client is a local council committed to leading their community to a sustainable future through excellent service and innovative solutions. They manage a variety of community services from water and waste management to community safety and local infrastructure advancement.

The Role:

As a Senior or Intermediate Consents Planner, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the district. Your responsibilities will include managing diverse consent applications, ensuring District Plan compliance, and contributing to the sustainable development of the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and process complex resource consent applications
  • Provide expert advice to applicants, the community, and council staff
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to promote sustainable development practices
  • Lead projects aimed at improving the consent process and policy development
  • Advocate for technology and innovative practices in environmental management

About You:

  • Bachelor's degree in Planning, Environmental Science, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role
  • Comprehensive understanding of the RMA and resource consent processing
  • Demonstrable knowledge of water and wastewater systems and sustainable development practices
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
