The Opportunity

If you are passionate about caring for birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish, and invertebrates, this 1-year Fixed Term Position at Auckland Zoo is the perfect opportunity for you. In this role, you will work towards providing exceptional animal habitats and enriching experiences for our visitors.

Role Responsibilities

As an Ectotherms & Birds Keeper, you will assist in the care of a diverse range of species, contribute to research efforts, and create engaging encounters for the zoo's visitors. You will have the opportunity to work with extraordinary animals such as kiwi, takahē, tuatara, and more.

Requirements

• Experience in birds or ectotherms
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Tertiary qualification in zoology/biology/conservation (preferred)
• Passion for innovative exhibit design and best-practice husbandry
• Commitment to conservation efforts

What We Offer

The salary for this position ranges from NZD $58,080 to $69,574, depending on experience. In addition, there are various discounts and benefits available to employees. Working at Auckland Zoo means being part of a team that makes a positive impact on the world.
