Role Responsibilities:

• Establish relationships with clients
• Provide intentional peer support including mobile outreach, individual sessions, and group facilitation
• Support individuals and their whanau in their recovery and wellness journey

Requirements:

• Ability to connect authentically with clients while maintaining boundaries
• Strong oral and written communication skills and computer literacy
• Commitment to reflecting Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Te Ao Māori principles
• Understanding of Peer Support recovery/wellness approaches in AOD services
• Experience in group facilitation or willingness to learn
• Innovative and creative problem-solving skills
• Team player with a passion for supporting people

Qualifications and Skills:

• Completed or studying towards a Level 4 Certificate in Health and Wellbeing
• Lived experience of recovery from alcohol and/or drug issues and abstinent for at least 2 years
• Current clean, full driver's license
• Ministry of Justice and Police clearances
• Right to work in New Zealand
