About the Opportunity

The University of Auckland is seeking a skilled Restoration Practitioner to join the Revive Our Gulf project. This role involves playing a key role in experimental processes, project coordination, monitoring, and collaboration to contribute to the project's success and impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Building restoration know-how for green-lipped mussel and shellfish restoration in the Hauraki Gulf
  • Supporting capability building within Tangata Whenua and project partners
  • Planning and executing in-water restoration and research projects
  • Coordinating and supporting monitoring activities
  • Engaging with external partners and stakeholders

Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must have:

  • A MSc or PhD in marine science
  • Experience in ecology or restoration
  • Ability to manage multiple projects
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Understanding of Te Ao Māori
  • Proficiency in GIS software and tools
