Position Overview

A permanent full-time position based in South Auckland is now available for a registered Social Worker to provide Social Work support to Caregivers. This role focuses on making a tangible difference to the experience and outcomes of tamariki and rangatahi in the region, extending support to caregiving communities as far as Pukekohe and Franklin.

Role Responsibilities

As a Caregiver Social Worker, you will collaborate closely with caregivers to support them in understanding their roles in a child's care journey. By leveraging your relationship management skills, you will equip caregivers with the necessary resources, skills, and information to create nurturing, safe, and stable environments for tamariki. This role involves working with a variety of caregivers, including whānau and non-whānau, emergency, respite, and long-term caregivers to ensure positive outcomes for the children.

Qualifications and Skills Required

To qualify for this position, you must hold a recognized Social Work qualification from the Social Worker Registration Board (SWRB) and be registered with the SWRB. Demonstrated resilience, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills are essential, along with a deep understanding of the Treaty of Waitangi. Strong communication and relationship management abilities are key, as well as a valid New Zealand driver's license.
