Job Opportunity: Animal Research Compliance Manager at The University of Auckland

Overview:

The University of Auckland, New Zealand’s leading university, is looking for a dedicated individual to join their Office of Research Strategy and Integrity as an Animal Research Compliance Manager. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring animal health, welfare, and research standards are met, contributing to advancements in human, animal, and environmental well-being.

Role Responsibilities:

- Ensure compliance with the Code of Ethical Conduct and the Animal Welfare Act - Provide support to the Animal Ethics Committee/University - Assist in training, drug compliance, and work related to animal-based Research, Testing, and Teaching - Work collaboratively with the Biological Safety Committee - Full-time position with flexible work arrangements - Salary range: $100,000 – $120,000 per annum

Requirements:

The ideal candidate should have: - 2-3 years of Veterinary experience - Registration with the New Zealand Veterinary Council or eligibility for registration - Prior experience in animal welfare, research, and teaching - Excellent communication skills - Ability to work independently and as part of a team
