Job Opportunity: Asbestos Project Manager

Short-term Contract Role in South Auckland

Are you a proven Asbestos Project Manager looking for an immediate start opportunity with the potential for extension? This unique 4-month contract role, located in South Auckland, offers the chance to champion the development and implementation of an asbestos management plan within a well-respected large organization's infrastructure function.

About the Role:

As the Asbestos Project Manager, your primary focus will be to ensure that the organization's management systems and practices related to asbestos hazards comply with current legislation and regulatory requirements. You will play a key role in developing an effective Asbestos Management Plan and will be responsible for training and communicating this plan to staff, management, and contractors to ensure a safe work environment.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you must have a minimum of 3 years' experience in a related position, with a deep understanding of health and safety legislation concerning asbestos. Knowledge of asbestos regulations, codes of practices, and guidance related to buildings is essential. Additionally, you should have experience in updating or developing asbestos management plans within large organizations or consultancies. Tertiary qualifications in Asbestos Management (BOHS) are preferred.

Skills Needed:

In addition to technical expertise, excellent communication and interpersonal skills are crucial for this role. You should be able to engage with various stakeholders, including onsite contractors, and possess strong IT and administration capabilities. The ideal candidate will be structured, credible, driven, and resourceful, with a proven background in asbestos management.
