About the Role

In this role, you will have the opportunity to take the lead on a $50M+ apartment or house build project in Auckland. Your responsibilities will include overseeing all aspects of cost estimation, budgeting, and cost control for new builds exceeding $50 million in value. You will be involved in managing the tendering process, evaluating bids, negotiating contracts, and handling procurement activities to ensure the cost-effective delivery of the project.

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will also be responsible for administering contracts, managing variations, and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations to safeguard the project's financial interests. You will be expected to prepare accurate and timely cost reports, forecasts, and financial analysis to monitor project performance and support decision-making processes.

Requirements

The ideal candidate for this role will have a Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field. Professional certifications such as RICS/NZIQS or equivalent are preferred. You should have a minimum of 8 years of experience in quantity surveying, with a proven track record of managing large-scale apartment or commercial new builds ($50M+) in Auckland or similar markets.

You should also possess proficiency in cost estimation software, a strong understanding of construction contracts, excellent numerical and analytical skills, as well as exceptional communication abilities. The role will require you to coach and influence others, making effective communication skills essential.
