The Role of a Peer Support Specialist

As a casual Peer Support Specialist, you'll be part of a team that provides alternative support to hospital admissions. Your responsibilities include assisting up to 12 guests with mental illness in a recovery-focused manner. The shifts are flexible, covering 24/7 availability.

Requirements for the Position

To be considered for this role, you should have:

  • Peer employment training (PET) certificate
  • New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (NZCHW) or equivalent
  • WRAP training certificate
  • Full NZ drivers licence
  • Current first aid certificate or willingness to obtain one
  • Commitment to the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
