Chief Executive Officer Full-time Job

Introduction

Ngaa Pou Hauora o Taamaki Makaurau is seeking a Chief Executive Officer to lead their Iwi Māori Partnership Board in Taamaki Makaurau. This pivotal role involves developing and setting up the organization, with a focus on representing mana whenua and hapori Maaori perspectives on Maaori health outcomes.

Qualifications & Experience

• Post graduate tertiary qualification in a relevant field or equivalent experience
• Minimum 8-10 years experience in a senior leadership role
• Previous health sector experience and understanding of the New Zealand health system and Māori health issues
• Knowledge of the requirements of the Pae Ora (Healthy Futures) Act 2022
• Understanding of government processes
• Fluency (or commitment to fluency) in Te Reo Māori
• Strong understanding of Te Ao Māori and tikanga
• Proven experience in startup leadership or entrepreneurial ventures
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
• Experience in legal and financial management

• Crafting the vision, mission, and strategic objectives of Ngaa Pou Hauora o Taamaki Makaurau
• Establishing operational and financial systems aligned with organizational goals
• Building and leading high-performing teams
• Developing partnerships with key stakeholders at national, regional, and local levels
• Designing innovative approaches to engage whānau and hapū in shaping healthcare delivery
• Creating a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability within the organization
• Ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
